Addams Family Spin Off
Wednesday Addams gets her own Netflix series starring Jenna Ortega, Catherine Zeta- Jones, Luis Guzman and Christina Ricci. This is an Addams family spin off. She’s creepy, she’s kooky, spooky and mysterious and now Wednesday Addams has her own show. Tim Burton directs the show, and it stars Jenna Ortega from You as Wednesday Addams. Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzman play her parents Gomez and Morticia Addams.
The eight-part comedy/drama will show the iconic character from the Addams family in a whole new light.
The show starts with Wednesday at her High school where she is called a freak by the water polo team and then she unleashes piranha into the pool. She gets expelled from school and her parents send her to Nevermore Academy, a school for outcasts. Her mother Morticia went there was she was younger.
Jenna Ortega
Her portrayal as Wednesday Addams is amazing. She is only 20 years old and is the star of the series. People have been blown away by her performance as Wednesday Addams. She also starred in You, Scream movie saga, Insidious 2, Iron Man 3 and Yes Day. Her portrayal seems effortless, she has all the quirks and coldness. She is portrayed with incredible depth.
Director Tim Burton
Tim Burton is a household name when it comes to movies, but this is his first segway into TV. He is used to dark movies such as Batman, Corpse Bride and Edward Scissorhands. He’s also behind Sleepy Hollow, Beetlejuice and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Success
This show has been a huge success on Netflix streaming service. With over 341 million views in a single week, it even beat out Stranger Things. Will there be a season 2?
I loved the series. I binged watched it in 2 days. Her portrayal was amazing. It was so good on so many levels, it has a lot of dark humor and quick witty dialogue. There is a lot of multi-level story telling involved. She goes on a series of adventures while trying to unravel a mystery of the monster in the woods, visions of a young girl and other story lines that keep you wanting more.
I loved her roommate Enid. She is the polar opposite of Wednesday. She is happy, has a colorful personality and is all about rainbows. But somehow their friendship works.
